Sarah Sterner-Hausknecht

An energetic, award-winning graphic designer, Sarah has been part of the advertising and design industry since 2005. She began her fine arts training at the Baum School of Art and Lehigh Carbon Community College, earning an Associate’s degree in Fine Arts/Studio Art. She later completed her B.F.A. in Communication Design at Kutztown University and, after gaining experience in both the professional and academic worlds, returned to earn her M.F.A. in Communication Design. She is also working to complete an M.Ed in Art Education, also at Kutztown University. Sarah has been teaching at Northampton Community College since 2016.
Deeply committed to the creative community, she is a past president of the American Advertising Federation of the Greater Lehigh Valley (AAF-GLV) and currently serves as chair of the American Advertising Awards committee. Her leadership experience also includes serving as Creative Chair for AAF-GLV and as Vice Chair of the Print Technology/Graphic Imaging Advisory Board at LCTI.
In addition to her academic and leadership roles, Sarah works as a freelance designer, is an Assistant Professor at Northampton Community College, and teaches at The Baum School of Art. When not teaching or designing, she enjoys a wide range of creative pursuits, including experimental typography, ballet, painting, hand-lettering, ceramics, quilling, basket-weaving, and gardening.
